Ballast Point Three Sheets Barrel Aged Rum
Three Sheets Rum is made by fermenting organic evaporated cane sugar, which is best known as raw unrefined sugar. It is fermented by a proprietary yeast strain and distilled through a custom built hybrid pot/column still.
By using raw sugar, Ballast Point has obtained a rum of great distinction with subtle sweet flavors. And no, they do not add any flavoring to the rum!
The aged rum spends its life in a virgin, heavily charred American oak barrel, much like the fine Bourbons of Kentucky.
